This pride month, Asia Pacific Mission for Migrants‘ Program Coordinator for Advocacy and Campaigns, Rey Asis, discussed the significant challenges confronting LGBTIQ+ migrants, who are often marginalized and treated as second-class citizens in an interview from UN Women Asia and the Pacific.
Rey drew attention to the pervasive discrimination and lack of legal protections faced by LGBTQIA+ migrants throughout their migration journey. He also emphasized the urgent need for inclusive policies that recognize and uphold the human rights of all migrant workers.
